The role
The role will involve working closely with partners and other colleagues across the firm on high value, complex international commercial, construction and investment treaty international arbitration cases. Responsibilities will include:
Working closely with team members to formulate case theory and strategy.
Assuming a key role in drafting written submissions, including managing more junior members of the team in the process
Managing research and document review processes.
Assisting in the preparation of witness and expert evidence.
Liaising directly with clients, witnesses and experts, tribunals, and opposing counsel.
Oral advocacy at procedural and substantive hearings.

Competitive candidates will possess:
At least six years’ (eight years' for Counsel level) professional experience representing clients in international commercial and investment arbitrations. In particular, experience of working on complex construction and infrastructure disputes (including associated delay, technical and quantum-related issues) would be an advantage.
Excellent academic background.
Full business proficiency in English.
Additional languages to add to the firm’s wide-ranging international language capabilities, including Arabic.

A strong understanding of the substantive and procedural aspects of arbitration law and practice.
Rigor, accuracy, and ability to structure written work product to suit demands of the case.
The ability to orally present a client’s case confidently, succinctly, and persuasively, while maintaining accuracy and credibility with a tribunal.
The ability to manage own and others’ work professionally and efficiently using commercially sound management practices that serve the best interests of the firm and its clients.
The ability to communicate effectively with individuals, teams, and clients at all levels and present confidently and with authority.
